The procedure for submitting events and photos may change in the future. If things get too chaotic, we'll put together something more streamlined.

Guidelines for photos:

Currently, we have two galleries set up, "places" and "people". Given the distribution of the community, "places" is Detroit-specific.

There are no guarantees that any photo will appear in the gallery. Since all of this is accessible from the front page, there are some guidelines:

For the "people" forum, photos taken at local clubs and events are more likely to be posted.

For the "people" forum, photos with softer flash are generally going to look better, and are more likely to be posted.

For the "people" forum, photos with peoples' names listed are more likely to be posted. For the "places" forum, photos with a brief caption are more likely to be posted.

Photos submitted by a person in the photo are more likely to be posted.

By submitting a photo, you agree to the following terms:

You have the legal right to grant detroitcityclub.com use of the photo. [You took the photo and own the rights to it.]

You grant detroitcityclub.com the rights to unlimited, non-exclusive use of the photo in perpetuity. [You still retain unlimited rights to the photo, you're just granting us the right to use it, too, for as long as we wish.]

Guidelines for events:

Anything listed as an event should be open to the public, and either submitted by someone involved with the planning of the event, or have include a link to verify the status of the event and to direct users to more information. Include a link to a flyer if possible.

Events should be non-recurring, one-time events: concerts, parties, shows. Recurring events, such as a regular club night of interest to the DCC community, can be promoted on the Event forum instead.
